Daydream | A Music Review

By: Julia A. Morales

Anneliese McCarthy, a student at SUNY Purchase, released her EP on December 1, 2016. The 5 song, acoustic album has the ability to bring a soft, meditative feeling over the bodies of listeners. The choral hall reverb pays homage to the title “Daydream” as it penetrates the ears.

Though the daydream aspect of the album art finds its way into the music, the reverb may be a little bit more distracting than one might anticipate. Getting any bit of work out is better than getting nothing out at all, and the natural acoustics of each track show off Anneliese’s talent beautifully.

The album art is stunning, a floral design with a black background. It’s reminiscent of ‘The Chainsmokers’ “Roses” album art.
